I don’t know about you guys, but bedtime is one of my favourite times of the day. The other is lunch/dinner time because food. As long as I have food and sleep, I’m a happy girl. But whether you’re an avid fan of sleep or not, we all need it. And we all have our own ways of making sure we get our perfect 40 winks.
The wonderful Katie from Living Life Our Way tagged me in the Bedtime Tag. It’s quite literally what it says on the tin, it’s a tag full of questions about bedtime. So without further or do, here are my answers.
1. Describe your usual bedtime routine.
At some point before bed I make sure to take my make up off and have a good old cleanse, brush my teeth, put my pyjamas on, all the usual stuff. Then when I’m definitely ready to hit the hay I make myself a hot chocolate, drink that, get comfy, and just watch How I Met Your Mother until I fall asleep.
Yes, it’s always How I Met Your Mother. I think I’m on my third run of the whole thing this year due to using it as my bed time show. Watching something I see a lot means I’m not paying too much attention to it so I fall asleep easily, but if I really can’t sleep, it’s still quite entertaining to watch. A lot of people say it’s bad to have electronics on. such as the TV, while you’re sleeping but I don’t have a problem with it.
2. What are your favourite pyjamas.
My mum always buys me a new pair of pyjamas at Christmas and this years set is my favourite so far. They are so soft and comfy, I just love them so much. The shirt has a bear on it and says “grizzly in the morning” too, which is just so accurate of me in the mornings. Honestly they win in every category.
3. What is your current bed time reading?
Like I said, I actually watch How I Met Your Mother until I fall asleep. But if I do read anything, it’s usually my social media feeds, and some blogs.
4. What would I find on your bedside table?
A bedside light (obviously), the cup of tea I’m currently drinking (yes I’m sitting on my bed as I write this), a book, my diary, a notebook, a pen, my USB, my medication, my hairbrush, and a fan that I use in the summer that I never bother to put away for the rest of the year.
5. What scene makes you sleepy?
6. What’s your usual bedtime and wake-up time?
It varies depending on whether I’m going to work, college, or if I have a day off. My bedtime is usually anything from 10pm-12am, and my wakeup time is anything from 6:30-8. Some mornings are an expection to this rule, but I’m usually awake no later than 8/8.30am.
7. What are your top three bedtime products?
I’m going to steal Katie’s answer here. But a bed, pillow, and duvet does sound like the decent answer here!
8. What is your most common sleeping position?
On my side. Which side I sleep on varies throughout the night. Yep, I fidget in bed.
9. Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?
My phone, and a drink. Means I don’t have to get up if I need a drink throughout the night, because that makes me unable to get to sleep for ages if I get up.
10. What’s your worst bed time habit?
Having electronics on and near me while I’m sleeping sounds like a good one. Also the fidgeting while I’m sleeping.
